What is SEO?
SEO = for search engine optimization. It is the action of optimizing your website or blog and webpages to get “free”, “organic” traffic from the biggest search engines like Google, Yahoo, and Bing.
Billions of people everyday search on Google for solutions, for your products and services or reviews but it’s hard for you to rank on the first page.
* Understand that you need to make it easy for all the search engines to understand what your post when you write is about and create content that matches, the “searcher’s intent.” or what people are searching for.
You need then need to structure your post in a way that Google will think it’s worth ranking and showing to other people.

So here are the basics SEO tips you need to know for success:
1. KEYWORD RESEARCH
Most bloggers give up after getting no traffic because they don’t do the proper keyword research.
By doing keyword research, you can see the average number of times someone searches for a specific keyword phrase in Google each month.
Then you can write about it.
Do Not guess that people will like your idea of a post, do keyword research first to find data.
Keyword research gives you ideas on the language you should use in your meta description and paragraphs to let both Google and readers know what our page is about.
2. ON-PAGE SEO
Google is not complicated. There are a set of rules you need to follow.
On-page SEO consists of optimizing your posts or pages with the intention to rank high in Google by doing a few things. If you want to rank #1 on Google, then your on-page SEO will need to be right on.
– Title tags
– Meta descriptions
– Heading tags (or H1 and H2 tags)
– Internal linking, external linking
– Adding images and videos for a better user experience.
– keyword usage using Rankmath for guidance (no keyword stuffing)
– Post tags for more context
– content creation
– competitor analysis.
Other SEO Tips
Tip #1: Focus on content and on one niche
Google has released an update called Hummingbird, and with Hummingbird, websites who just have content on everything won’t do as well as sites that focus on one single niche and are super thorough.
You want to be VERY thorough with your SEO content.
Tip #2: Do NOT pay for links or beg anyone for them.
If you apply tip #1 and just write a long-form blog post (e.g., 10,000 words informative article), people will organically link back to your post and you will rank faster.
I have another video that shows you all the methods to get backlinks organically. Watch it till the end.
Tip #3: Optimize your title tag and your meta description
If you do a Google search right now on “how to lose weight”, and you notice that for the results, there is this link at the top containing the keyword, and also in the title and the first line below the title.
All of this is called “meta description”.
Google reads those info to know what your post is about and then decides to rank it. So optimize them.
Tip #4: Use RankMath and the Google Search Console function to get data on what works on your site
Did you know that Google gives you a tool that teaches you how to rank number one on Google?
Google Search Console is a powerful tool that also shows you which articles are getting impressions and clicks.
Tip #5: MARKET MARKET, PROMOTE YOUR BLOG Out there
No one knows that your blog exists in the early days until Google starts ranking.
In order to get visitors in the beginning, you need to promote your site on Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram stories, Twitter.
Here is a video about how to use Pinterest to promote your blog posts and drive traffic:
If you watched the video until the end, there is no doubt that Pinterest is your to-go social media strategy.
TIP #6: Be Patient and Patient
Your website authority is also what makes your posts to rank higher and faster. So it takes sometimes years to build online authority, for Google to trust your site and content.
So be patient if you don’t see any traffic after 6 months, just keep writing.
Conclusion
SEO is the single one practice that will make your success as a blogger or with your website, so do it right in the beginning.
